Because good stuff really shouldn’t sit in a closet.
As a new mom, I spent too much time buying things that didn’t need to be new. Our tiny closets overflowed with barely-used clothes and gear, and I kept thinking — someone nearby could actually use this. Meanwhile, other UWS families were buying the same things brand new. Kids outgrow everything fast, and space is limited — we’re just making it easier to connect the dots.
I tried online marketplaces and parent groups to sell, but they always felt chaotic — full of half-finished conversations and little follow-through. And there was no simple way to donate what didn’t sell. In a city with so many families on each block, I knew there had to be others in the same situation — wanting to pass along quality items to neighbors who could actually use them.
What if there is a better way?
Let’s create a sharing loop where your outgrown is someone’s new favorite. The Parent Loop is built specifically for UWS families who want to exchange kids’ items and ensure nothing good goes to waste. A space where parents can:
- Exchange or give away directly to other UWS families — no shipping, just neighbors helping neighbors. Connect with families in your building or on your block.
- Join seasonal clothing swaps and community events. Meet other parents while finding exactly what your growing kids need. Turn exchanges into friendships.
- Easily donate unsold items to local charities. Connect with organizations that serve families in need. Nothing good goes to waste.
- Bonus weekend guides: A go-to list of free weekend activities for UWS families with young kids. Directly in your email, every Thursday morning.
My family invites your family to join The Parent Loop. Let’s keep good stuff in our community and make every parent’s life a little easier.
